Currently taking the SCA Barista Skills Foundation reskilling course sponsored by SIP (PERKESO) and it’s been a great experience. The training place is very cosy, bright, and welcoming with lots of natural light. Coach CC is funny, cheerful, and extremely knowledgeable. I came in with zero coffee or barista background, and he explains everything in simple, easy to understand terms. Hands on sessions are well guided, including latte art, and the place is well equipped with proper machines. Bonus: amazing coffee made by the trainer (highly recommended!), a Cafe menu with interesting coffee varieties, and they even roast coffee beans. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to learn barista skills from scratch.

I attended the CSP Barista Skills (Foundation) course here, and overall it was a really enjoyable and hands-on experience. I joined mainly out of personal interest in coffee and with the idea of practising at home, and the course gave me a much clearer understanding of coffee and the basics needed to continue on my own. Nick, the trainer, was very easy to learn from. I asked quite a lot of questions throughout the course, including many basic ones and some more detailed follow-ups, and he was always able to explain things clearly without making them feel complicated. The explanations were practical and easy to understand, which made learning feel comfortable rather than overwhelming. One part I really enjoyed was being able to taste different coffee beans and brewing styles. Tasting and comparing coffees made it much easier to understand how things like origin, processing, and roast level affect flavour. Whenever something sparked curiosity, Nick was open to explaining more or showing additional examples, which made the learning feel flexible and natural instead of strictly structured. The milk frothing and latte art sessions were another highlight. During practice, Nick, Mia, and Faz were all actively guiding and observing. They were quick to spot what went wrong, whether it was milk texture, steaming technique, or pouring control, and helped correct it on the spot. The feedback was clear and specific, which really helped. Latte art definitely still needs more practice at home, but the guidance made it clear what to work on. I also appreciated the freedom to practise using the equipment. We had good access to the machines and were encouraged to practise brewing, steaming milk, and pouring latte art repeatedly. Having the space and time to practise freely made a big difference in getting comfortable with the process. Espresso and extraction were covered as well and were interesting and useful. Learning about grind size, extraction timing, and tasting the results helped build a better understanding of what actually affects the cup, rather than just following set steps. The overall vibe of the course was relaxed and friendly, which made it easy to ask questions and practise without pressure. The equipment felt professional and realistic. The staff, including Mia, Faz and Fiqah were friendly and easy to talk to, which added to the positive experience. One small thing that could be improved is the practice environment during busier times. Occasionally, other customers moving in and out caused slight distractions, and things could feel a bit hectic during practice. It was manageable, but a more controlled space would make the experience even better. Overall, the course provided a solid foundation for anyone interested in coffee, especially if you want to practise barista skills at home. I am glad I took the course and would recommend CAN Academy @ CoffeeHub to anyone looking for practical, hands-on barista training in a comfortable learning environment. ☕

I recently attended the SCA Barista course with CAN Academy and found it to be a very educational and rewarding experience. I joined with minimal prior knowledge of coffee, so I was initially unsure what to expect, but the course turned out to be well-structured, approachable, and engaging from start to finish. CAN Academy provides a clean, professional training environment with proper equipment that reflects real café settings. The course was organised clearly, and the learning pace was comfortable, making it easy to follow even for beginners. Our trainer, Mr. Nick, was a key reason the learning experience was so positive. He is knowledgeable, patient, and very methodical in his teaching. He explains concepts clearly and logically, breaking down technical information into simple steps that are easy to understand. More importantly, he does not rush through the syllabus and always checks that everyone is following before moving on. His calm and encouraging approach made the learning environment comfortable and helped build confidence, especially during hands-on practice. The theory sessions were surprisingly engaging. We learned about coffee origins, processing methods, and how different factors affect coffee quality and extraction. Mr. Nick did a great job connecting theory to practical situations, which made the information easier to understand and remember. The hands-on sessions were equally valuable. We were guided through espresso preparation basics, understanding extraction, and handling equipment properly. Clear demonstrations and constructive feedback helped make the machines feel far less intimidating and allowed us to improve step by step. Milk frothing and basic latte art sessions were also well conducted. During these practices, both Mia and Faz were around to guide us, demonstrate techniques, and help correct small details, which made learning milk texture and simple latte art much smoother. Hygiene, safety, and good working practices were consistently emphasised throughout the course. This reinforced the importance of professionalism and responsibility behind the bar, not just drink preparation. What stood out most was the overall learning environment. The class felt supportive rather than stressful, and mistakes were treated as part of the learning process. This made the course enjoyable while still maintaining high standards. By the end of the course, I had gained a solid understanding of coffee basics, espresso preparation, milk handling, and café practices. The course was informative, practical, and confidence-building. I would recommend the SCA Barista course at CAN Academy to anyone who wants a clear and well-guided introduction to coffee. Whether you are exploring a new interest or considering a future in coffee, this course provides a strong starting point in a professional and welcoming setting.
